Bengt Stillström, founder of Academedia, believes that special support for the students who need it is a waste. The school can never be equal anyway. In DI, Bengt writes, in all supposed good sense:
"Despite increased efforts, it will turn out that the small group that has difficulty with school still does not perform close to the others.
Unfortunately, it also turns out statistically that a relatively larger proportion of them come from a weaker socio-economic background. Everyone knows this, but for some reason it cannot be said that nothing can help it.
Instead, let's set other goals for the school!”
The reasoning is lame. Bengt himself writes that a larger proportion of the students who need extra support come from a 'weaker' socio-economic background. Could it possibly be related? Can reading habits, overall study habits and support from home possibly affect the students' results? Bengt does not tremble on the cuff in his denial of the importance of social heritage.
Our guess is that Bengt is actually worried about something completely different. That the opportunity to make a profit can be limited when the red-greens win the election. Perhaps it would be appropriate for him, who wants to call himself an entrepreneur, to raise the bar just a little. For example, by engaging in business activities that are not about profiting from our tax funds. By actually taking risks as a venture capitalist.
