Internal documents from the Moderates have shown that the purpose of the work line is to lower wages in Sweden. Now we see employer after employer trying to push wages and working conditions in the shadow of the crisis.
The work line weakens the unions by abolishing the possibility to deduct for membership, has made the unemployment insurance fund almost impossible to live on for many and has lowered the tax so that people do not need such a high salary before tax to live on.
Now that the crisis is hitting, SAS and Teknikföretagen have continued on the same path to exploit the low economic cycle, the weak unions, the unsustainable situation for the unemployed and the reduced taxes to pressure wages and working conditions for their wage earners.
Prof. Milton Friedman formulated the axiom of change. "Only a crisis - real or imagined - can bring about real change" - only in the crisis stage and state of shock can neoliberal ideas take the initiative for the demolition of e.g. social welfare and the influence of trade unions.
SAS succeeded. Let's see if Teknikföretagen also succeeds.
You can read about the Wallenbergs and SAS on the blog Oikonomia.
The government's so-called Workline is nothing more than an almost unimaginable contribution line. The upper class must have a very hard time in Sweden. They pretty much have to contribute to everything these days. It is apparently not enough with the contributions they received during Göran's time.
It actually seems that the most important issue in 2012 is that Sweden has an extremely prosperous upper class that the rest of us have to pay for.
