Prohibition of profits worsens welfare. Attendo CEO Ammy Wehlin don't mince words:
"So far, no one has succeeded in explaining how a profit ban would improve welfare."
Well, or maybe staff-intensive businesses work best if they are allowed to be staff-intensive. Unless shareholders, by saving on staff, take profits out of the business.
Furthermore, this Attendos claims representative that it is not possible to combine freedom of choice with a profit ban. Really? Do the municipalities only offer one and the same type of service? That is not the case. Everyone who has the most elementary knowledge of public health care knows about that.
Non-aligned Sweden is analyzing in an excellent way Attendo's unsympathetic business. They also mention what Ammy Wehlin leaves out. That Attendo took out SEK 1 billion. in profit last year.
