A deregulated capitalism becomes a market for jokers and the physically or financially strong. The employer does not need to be able to offer decent wages or good working conditions.
A person willing to become an employer may even receive grants to employ people in pointless activities just to maintain the general morality of accepting substandard job offers. It is not considered that an appropriately working, fully employed collective produces more and better than hard-pressed individuals. And you push these few hard-pressed individuals to work so hard that many of them burn out. A select few receive sickness benefit or compensation. Others must force the sick and disabled into a labor market where there are hardly any jobs even for high achievers and well-educated. A person with an academic degree should be grateful for a job at McDonalds.
Market rents do not even benefit all capitalists. When people can only afford the rent, they cannot afford to sustain all other business activities with their consumption. Academic knowledge is worth nothing, but only the ability to sell substandard products with teenage language. Consumption fluctuates considerably in recessions and many businesses fail because so few have government jobs or social security to sustain their consumption. It is perfectly OK for corporations to enlist the support of dictatorships and wars to gain control of lucrative natural resources. Rich oil capitalists can buy up and sell ideas about environmentally friendly, alternative energy supplies in the hope of maximizing short-term profits even as it erodes the prospect of their children being able to live in security. Countries are forced to save themselves from times of demand shortages/recessions as if a reduced purchasing power were the solution.
