There are at least three different efficiency scenarios for a job.
1) You do far too little and the company goes bankrupt.
3. You do far too much under constant scolding and incitement from management. Colleagues can compete against each other. The atmosphere is bad, staff turnover high.
2. There is a position in between where the managers trust the staff and give them freedom under responsibility and definite goals. You can speak freely during the coffee break. The creative lunch and break conversations give rise to new solutions to workplace problems or at least give more energy to the day's tasks. You have enough tasks and can take on a few more in a crisis. There is an opportunity to take a break from time to time as long as you do your best to achieve the goals. There is a friendly spirit and people happily help each other. There are few conflicts because it is accepted that people are different and everyone gets to work in their own way. The managers are open to consultation about how solutions to problems should be found. Everyone gets to specialize in what they are best at. Although there are bosses, in reality everyone is equal and respects each other. Admittedly, a profit is necessary if the business is private, but not only the customer but also the employee as a human being is the goal of the work.
