The constant streamlining and globalization of the private working life only has a natural consequence if society exists for the sake of the citizens and not capital: Eliminate unemployment by expanding the public sector.
First, you have to rebuild the disadvantaged public sectors of school, health and social care, where the staff are suffering from overload and poor payment. But I am sure that with the money from the taxation of the workers and the capital, we could afford to expand also the culture, which is so important to describe the capitalist society and to question its injustices.
According to many who have researched the issue, this would cost slightly less, almost as much or just slightly more than what all unemployment does today. Certainly, increased staff density in the public sector would also lead to reduced costs for sick leave when fewer people fell ill from stress.
If you do it at a balanced pace, then an expanded public sector need not lead to a shrinking private sector.
