For those who had low or no income in working life, there is a guarantee pension. It corresponds to today approx. SEK 7/month before tax. Please note that the possibility of housing allowance and elderly support is added, at most the pension will be a total of SEK 11/month after tax. But with today's living costs, it is still far too low a level. It also counts according to the EU as an allowance below the poverty line.
The state is falling over the costs on the municipalities because the municipalities are responsible for the support. Therein lies part of the problem.
Let us also take the example of dental care. The teeth are not fully covered by the general health insurances. How can a person with a guarantee pension afford good dental care? High-cost coverage, sure, but how many can afford dental care up to that amount? We will return to it in another post.
Bring it along guarantee pension, the largest part of the pension will be spent on consumption, which is why the money is put into circulation. Everyone benefits from the money being traded. New jobs are created and it becomes a virtuous circle where investments lead to new investments.
Today's pension system builds on the utopia of a 40-year boom with full employment. In reality, however, we have 5-10% equilibrium unemployment, part-time employment and other precarious forms of work. Many are also burnt out.
Flamman rewrites what it would cost to raise the guarantee pension: "if the floor were to be around SEK 14 a month/…/it would cost us SEK 800 billion." This can be compared with the Alliance's tax cuts of SEK 6,3 billion. a year. (Flamman 140 January 5, p. 2017)
In conclusion, you can support the pensioners' cause by getting involved in party politics and raising the issue in social media. There seems to be a certain ignorance about how low the guarantee pension actually is.
