We are now facing an economic crisis similar to that of the 1930s. Global trade is going down. Companies go bankrupt en masse. Great unemployment threatens. In economically difficult times, the breeding ground for racism and right-wing extremism often increases. Can we avoid this? Yes, in the same way as in the 30s through massive global investments in public projects that reintroduce productivity into the system.
But we don't just have to invest in infrastructure like road projects like we did back then. We can also increase e.g. teacher density and other staff density where the public sector is understaffed. Another important project could be to build rental housing for everyone who needs it.
