The economists track accordingly The business world that the boom for Swedish industry under the rule of the red-greens will continue to gather steam for several more years and that employment will also remain high. This before the post actually explains why it makes sense that booms are historically more common under red and now even red-green governments.
In new words, I could say that production and consumption should not be seen as two fundamentally different concepts. They are two sides of the same coin. If there is no need or opportunity for the majority of the population to consume, then there is no reason or prerequisite for production.
More economic flows lead from the producing and consuming wage earners to the accumulation of profit with Capital than the other way around. Therefore, taxes are needed that redistribute to keep the entire population prosperous and thus also production and consumption going.
Leading economists also say that increased social security introduced by the Red-Greens, a generous sickness benefit/sickness allowance and reasonably high social benefits act as automatic economic stabilizers in that the poorest consume all the income they receive, unlike the better-off who save a lot. Consumption keeps employment going much more effectively than private saving.
However, it does not only have to be about environmentally hazardous consumption such as clothes, gadgets and travel. If we consume more of the public, this production/consumption does not have the same environmental impact as the private. We can also consume/produce more culture.
But the big environmental solution is left-wing structural. Individuals cannot and should not bear the responsibility of making society environmentally friendly through an ascetic lifestyle or source sorting. There is technology to automate source sorting in factories. This also makes sorting more efficient and more accurate than private individuals. If we use more environmentally friendly energy sources despite opposition from fossil energy producers, this solves most problems. Great strides are already being made in the manufacture of artificial meat without the same carbon dioxide and methane emissions.
