The social democratic think tank Time has passed a report examining the welfare capitalists and their loyalty bonds: Which people are involved? What do the connections between politics and business look like?
Report author Sten Svensson writes in the preface:
"When the companies were allowed into welfare, it opened up for private individuals to enrich themselves. Those who worked in the right places, those who knew the right people and those who received the right information, were given extremely good conditions to enrich themselves.

Privatization has also brought with it that the balance of power has changed in Swedish society and democracy has weakened. Power has shifted from democratically elected assemblies to private individuals and to large corporations.”
