"We demand a reformed pension system that greatly increases pensions for low and middle income earners and at the same time ensures that those with tiring occupations can retire when their bodies give up, without risking becoming a poor pensioner.
This is how we create a fair pension system:
Introduce a valve that enables the exhausted person to retire early - without the risk of becoming a poor pensioner. Then a change is required to the extremely tough requirements found in today's health insurance. The work test for those over the age of 61 should only be done against the individual's employer. For those who are unemployed, the work test should instead be done against the individual's occupation.
Do not punish those who have been involuntarily absent from the labor market. If you are away from work due to illness, parenthood or unemployment, your pension provision must be based on your salary and not your temporary compensation. Everyone has the right to a secure pension!
Byggnad's new report "Knegarpension - compensation for hard work" shows that it is possible, and in our neighboring country Denmark, a major pension reform was recently carried out precisely with the aim of compensating those who have worked hard all their lives.
A Swedish guaranteed pensioner does not even get half of what he would have received in Denmark, and the fact is that Sweden has some of the lowest pensions in the Nordics. No politician, regardless of colour, can be proud of that.”
