It was wrong for Bildt to oppose the reception of Iraqi refugees because these would commit honor killings and be difficult to integrate into the Swedish labor market because they were refugees. The majority of refugees do not commit honor killings and even they must be considered innocent until a Swedish court proves the opposite in the individual case. As for them being poorly educated, I don't think this is true. Many highly educated professionals such as doctors are persecuted in Iraq. Iraq is a fairly well-developed developing country with many well-educated citizens. But that is not the point.
We must accept those who are persecuted for political, religious, sexual or certain other reasons, regardless of the educational level of the persecuted.
Then it's a problem when a country is in a violent state like Iraq where pretty much the entire population would have to flee to secure their lives. A small country like Sweden cannot handle the entire world's population and if we did, all the problems would move here. Had Bildt used such reasoning, I think more people would have understood his position, even though it is problematic and deeply tragic that we cannot accept everyone who is persecuted or threatened with life.
