More rental units are good for everyone.

Younger people and people with lower incomes can get housing of a reasonable standard at a reasonable cost. Anyone who lives in a tenement also has so-called tenure protection. You live safely in a rental property and don't have to pay a cash deposit.
As the tenancy is not for sale on the open market, it is not possible to speculate on it. Borrowing for a condominium is not without risk. The Swedes already have a very high loan-to-value ratio today. Anyone who, in addition to, for example, a student loan, also has a larger mortgage finds themselves in a vulnerable position if they become unemployed or suffer a loss of income for other reasons. As the prices of condominiums have risen sharply in recent years, there is reason to believe that it is a housing bubble. A housing bubble that is about to burst. Now it is not only the left who claims this but even established brokers warn of a possible future drop in prices.
The solution to the housing crisis is to build more rental properties. No more condominiums. Rental properties provide a more stable economy through a lower loan-to-value ratio. It reduces unhealthy speculation. In addition, more groups with low incomes get access to good housing.
Last, but not least, it is stated in the form of government, Section 2, that the public sector must ensure that all citizens have a home:
"In particular, the general secure right to work, housing and education must work for social care and security and for good conditions for health."
