In Gothenburg, the governing, bourgeois Alliance has commissioned an investigation to see what would happen if environmental zones were introduced in the city center where cars older than 2009 would be prohibited. The Green Party supports the investigation and wants to go even further and have zones where only completely fossil-free vehicles such as electric cars are allowed.
The Solution is instead expanded public transport, more research on environmentally friendly vehicles and energy, not zones with bans on cars manufactured from before 2009. Typically the Green Party to blame the individual for structural problems. We expected better from the Alliance, which otherwise usually defends individual freedom. The Social Democrats oppose the ban on equality grounds. Good by the #SocialDemocrats
Pretty much the whole thing modern society is based on access to own car to be available. This particularly applies to the suburbs where the low-paid live. Then you cannot in practice ban the car for low-income earners.

Completely correct! But a necessary step on the way to a fossil-free society is to reduce the need to drive, which hits those with little money the hardest. Among other things, by gradually closing down hard-to-reach suburbs and building traditional towns within walking distance.
Yes, it takes time. But houses have an economic life of about 50 years, and most houses in the suburbs are older than that.
