The government has removed the possibility of deducting the union fee from the tax. It has also increased the cost of membership in the unemployment insurance fund. This has led to an exodus of members from the unions. This, in turn, has meant that the unions have little to oppose when employers now want to worsen collective agreements and lower wages. What does it matter if you got a little lower tax, when the government's policy lowers your salary?
The tax cuts are always paid for by someone. If the tax is reduced, the co-payments will increase.
