Free time is productive and well-deserved. The worker is not alone worth his salary but also his rest. We can shorten working hours considerably. This is productive.
Since the introduction of the 40-hour week, our productivity has increased 20 times. At the same time, many burn out, are physically injured at work or find it difficult to find work in our slim labor market.
If we were to extend free time, we would probably be more efficient when we work and be able to devote ourselves more to leisure activities. Leisure activities often profit some capitalist. After all, most pleasures are not free. Well-rested parents can better help their children study well and grow up to be well-functioning people. With more free time, workers could nurture their bodies and their inner selves. They could get a general education and become active in association life.
