Generous social insurance benefits the whole society:
- they reduce poverty-related crime. Kidnappings of multi-millionaires and billionaires have snowballed since Reinfeldt's government took office in 2006.
- generous social insurances are called automatic stabilizers by economists. In other words, when there is a recession, high social insurance stops an excessive drop in demand, which leads to fewer people needing to quit their jobs or put their companies into bankruptcy.
- Moderate secret documents have come out showing that the tax cuts were meant to make people more willing to accept lower starting wages and reduced pay rises. In other words, there is a causal relationship between the level of social insurance and the level of the lowest wages. Conclusion: high social insurances maintain everyone's wages.
- No matter how diligent you are, anyone and everyone can become ill and unemployed. Then it is good to have a generous public security.
