After all, we have built oil pipelines all over the world, so we should be able to afford it. I think we should build a global aqueduct system so that water could be channeled from places with flooding to places with drought.
The civil war in Syria was caused, among other things, by of several years of drought. Now we are paying for the consequences of that drought with terrorist threats, more and more asylum seekers and a troubled oil market.
At the same time, it costs enormous sums to restore a city after it has been flooded, apart from all the suffering a flood creates.
