We don't have all the answers. We see a downsizing policy and the demands for high-performing staff. It is important that all politically interested and elected representatives think about and debate these issues. Here are some suggestions:
- make union membership tax deductible, so more people rejoin their union
- good conditions for the unemployed and those on sick leave force employers to compete with good conditions to attract new labor
- reduce taxes and employer contributions for permanent employment and sharply increase the tax and employer contributions for the various forms of short-term employment that exist
- significantly strengthen LAS so that people dare to speak out about misconduct at work
- strengthen MBL so that employees have more of a say in how work organization should look like
- the public employers must lead by example and offer their employees favorable working conditions and wages so that private employers are forced to do the same in order to get some labor
- before a registration of which company sick leave comes from so that companies that produce a lot of sick leave can be taxed higher until they improve the health figures in their workplace
- democratize the unions so that they are forced to listen more to the grassroots. The unions are a decisive party in the development of working life. It is extremely important that the unions do everything they can to improve the conditions for their members and all people in Sweden.
- companies must accept their responsibility to contribute to the development of society. No one is an isolated island. In order for companies to prosper in the long term, it is necessary for the whole society to prosper.
These are just a few thoughts that will hopefully start your readers' thoughts and discussions. It is in the democratic conversation that a more positive future for everyone is designed.
