A right-wing objection to a generous social security system is that it benefits those who do not work more than those who do. But is it that simple? Can these two groups be distinguished? Many cannot or do not manage to work all their lives. You get burned out, you get cancer, you can't find a job no matter how hard you look, you break a leg, etc. Anyone who never needs to use the social security systems should be grateful. For the rest of us, social security systems are the difference between life and death when we can't work even though we want to.
