The riots in Husby cannot be defended. But people are fragile. When society abandons people, neighborhoods, and groups of people, some will lose judgment. Be it triggering factor the police shooting death of a mentally ill man who was armed only with a knife?
I think it is extremely rare that people go on a merry-go-round because of their own inherent bad morals. This is because healthy people do not want to harm others, risk imprisonment, such a heavy bump in the CV as a riot represents or risk being injured themselves during the riots.
We can restrain those who lose their judgment with more police and tougher measures or create humane jobs for everyone and good and equal schooling, care and welfare in all parts of the country. 38% of young people in Husby neither work nor work. Only 50% reach the primary school target. 25000 is estimated to live overcrowded in an area with housing for only 15. As Aftonbladet wrote: "For the past five years, society has failed Husby - the bank, the lunchroom, the public dental care, the health center, the post office, the midwife, the youth center and the meeting point. Everything has disappeared and now even the police are afraid to go there.”
Tom English right-wing business newspaper Financial Times think that the Husby riots are a sign that the right-wing turn in Sweden has gone too far.
