In Svenska Dagbladet, 15 July 2014, writes the liberal debater Alice Teodorescu that the taxes are too high. Reduced tax gives increased freedom. Claims Alice. Not a word about welfare deteriorating through tax cuts. Nothing new so far. The right has always had such ideas. But. Hold on now. Alice further writes that:
"Yes, whoever wants to eat must work first."
Did I read that right? So the unemployed are not entitled to food for the day? So the UN declaration on human rights should not apply in Sweden? I read on, but good Alice does not retract her claim. Oh well, at least she's honest. I can give her that. But nothing else.
Apart from the liberal one the debater's lack of solidarity, then it is an untrue statement. It is based on the idea that everyone is equal and that it is natural that you work before you get food. But the rich don't actually have to work before they get food, even if you remove all economic equalization systems.
Then it ignores the fact that the right wants permanent, high unemployment in order to get an abundance of unqualified applicants for the worst jobs.
Good people, vote out the Alliance on September 14.
