The goal of your workplace is to create maximum profit for its owner or, if you work in the public sector, to create maximum service at the lowest possible cost so that taxes can ideally be reduced. The effect of this is not only that you constantly have to be on top. Next year you have to do much better than this year because capitalism is driven by unbridled greed as the goal and engine. Therefore, even talented employees can be criticized and even fired.
The real purpose of society should be to create welfare for each other. If the competition is so high that more and more people are eliminated, then society no longer fulfills its goal towards these people, nor towards all those who are on the breaking point.
