The utility value system guarantees reasonable rents. It is a prerequisite for people to be able to afford to stay. A prerequisite for the wheels to continue turning at the same high speed in the economy. It is simply economically sound. What do the Moderates think of the use value system? The moderates' party leadership gives unclear messages:
"We do not advocate a system of market rents. In the new rent setting system, however, the normative role of the public good for all rents has been removed, which we believe provides a better prerequisite for a rent that is perceived as fair and reasonable by both tenant and landlord."
But ... the municipal ones the representatives of the Moderates give a clear answer to the question of the rent. Whole 77% are for market rents. The municipal representatives give an indication of where the party is going. The moderates are on the same path as always: Radically reduced public welfare and increased income dispersion. Seasoned with a little market rents. All so that some will have better conditions than others.
Does that sound sad? Even extremely unfair? You can read more about the Tenants Association's work against market rents here.
