The police in Stockholm have been tasked with checking the ID documents of people on the streets who may be suspected of having a foreign background, i.e. have a foreign appearance and may happen to lack a valid residence permit. This smacks of structural racism and the police state. Read more here! Of the checks the police made in January, these amounted to 716 checks, of which 670 were complete unfounded. It is enormous structural racism that one should have their residence permit checked only on the basis of their skin color.
