An important difference between right and left is that the right believes that man is strong and becomes stronger by receiving freedom of choice and want to help.
As a leftist, I believe that man is weak alone. If Systembolaget's alcohol monopoly is deregulated, many will reach for the bottle more often. If you remove the security systems, no more people will look for jobs (which do not exist), but it will only create poverty. Poverty will generate morbidity, crime, drug use and reduced commerce which will lower the incomes of the capitalists.
From the cradle to the grave
Humans need to be born into a system that gives them security from the cradle to the grave. This does not mean that people should be dependent on benefits. All work must also suit the conditions of the weak. There must be schooling that enables everyone to get a job, be good parents/fellow human beings and become democratic actors. We must have a generous safety net for those who do not meet the requirements and alternative jobs for them as well. Society must offer labor market training for those who become unemployed when the labor market goes through changes so that the people can take the new jobs that the market brings instead.
Expand the public sector
I believe in expanding public sector as companies become more efficient. We also need the public sector for new technology. The increased profit that the streamlining generates should not only benefit big capitalists, but should contribute to the benefit of everyone.
I believe in free and equal publicly owned healthcare and a fee-free publicly owned university.
Alone, driven by wind by wave, the individual is weak and destructive. Together we are strong and good.
