Sweden is one welfare country with free university education, subsidized healthcare, large public libraries and many other good social services. How is all this possible? Unlike many other countries, we still have a large tax-financed sector. We have built a strong society with relatively high social mobility.
Time after time bourgeois voices are heard saying that Sweden has "the world's highest taxes". It's not true. Both Denmark and France have higher tax levels than Sweden. Taxes are a way to help each other. Taxes boost production and consumption. Which creates virtuous circles.
In a welfare society we take care of each other.
