The tyrannical boss who publicly incites and judges does not produce more efficient but only more stressed and sick employees, two new surveys show.
Kind managers make more productive and healthier employees. And teams that show security and concern for each other are in turn the best performers of different team types.
Nice managers get nicer, more loyal, healthier and more productive employees. This is shown by Emma Seppäläs, PhD in psychology at Stanford University, research.
Google separately asked which of its work teams were the most productive. In 2012, Google hired some researchers in Project Aristotle and let them use all the company's data with the mission: Find the success factor. It was being able to share thoughts and ideas without the risk of alienating oneself. To be able to admit what you did wrong and still gain understanding. That employees take each other's needs into account. That the groups had a "social sensitivity", they were good at analyzing their employees' tone of voice and expressions. And that everyone felt that they got to speak equally at the end of the working day. However, one should not go into the depth of one's personal traumas, but that there is an understanding that we are not machines and that we need security and care leads to much more productive teams.
Kindness is a winning spirit!
