Rental properties in many different sizes and at low rent is important for welfare. This means that even low-income earners can have a reasonable housing situation. That families with children can upgrade to larger apartments when they have more children. That people dare to move to look for new jobs. Purchasing power is also maintained. A housing policy for the majority of the population benefits everyone.
However, the property owners want raise the rent. For all. They want market rents because they think their very high profits are too low.
