Competition pushes down wages and prices and raises efficiency and productivity. Unless the people resist through strikes and good bargaining by strong unions and global solidarity, the competition will not end until we have the same conditions as the lowest paid and most exploited workers in China. Today, trade unions need to strengthen their demands for a better working environment and lower productivity for many workers and white-collar workers. At the same time, the unions must unite in global cooperation to raise the wages and lower the productivity of the exploited workers of the developing countries. The relocation of companies to low-wage countries shows that we cannot become efficient enough to compete with low-wage countries for jobs. So the people of the world must unite in the fight to raise the wages of the developing countries so that the companies have nowhere to move.
