A lot is going well in Sweden. Don't flirt with the brown-blue government's fear-mongering, but at the same time get to grips with how we can achieve full employment without stress and with restored welfare.
Very good despite neoliberalism
Despite 50 years of neoliberalism, there is still much good in Sweden. We still have free schooling, libraries, beaches that rival the Mediterranean, and a welfare system that works in parts. The work environment is often better than in other countries, many professions have decent purchasing power, and the unions still have some power. Despite cuts, public education survives with cheap or in some cases free courses and meetings – in the community you can both think freely and meet friends. People help each other, civil society flourishes, and many immigrants highlight how safe our streets are internationally.
Good foundation to build on
We have a fiat currency which makes us without loan or high taxes for ordinary people, can afford almost anything we want, just want to choose the right politician. We have a very democratic electoral system with one vote for every adult citizen with equal power for everyone. If only we vote correctly, Sweden can become great again. There are still some labor market training courses that give hope – not just for low-skilled jobs. Peace reigns, Russia is no immediate threat, and streaming services make culture accessible to everyone. The Dragon Movie provides alternative European quality film. The forest, the lakes, the walking trails, the friendships and the music are here – and leaving home for a Walking clears the mindThe government has low support according to Statistics Sweden – and when grassroots rise up in conversation and local protests, much can be restored.
Improvements needed
We need to regulate robotization so that not man becomes a slave under the machines. We need to improve opportunities for further education at all levels throughout life, because robotization will also affect academics.
Sweden needs to stand firm against economic or military agreements that threatens our legislativefreedom or neutrality.
Wages, working conditions and pensions need to be improved, especially in women's occupations. The idea that the pensions threaten the state coffers is based on creative (hit-and-run) mathematics according to the government investigation that presented the idea.
We need to fight exclusion with good jobs for everyone and not with denied sickness benefits or denied the right to personal assistance. Citizens' idea if job creation is based on eroded welfare to pressure wage earners to work hard for poor conditions and little pay.
Small tax increases had a big effect
During the red-green years of 2014-2018, taxes were raised slightly for those with salaries over 36-40 a month. Today, this would affect higher incomes. Lother people's economy started to run like a train again and more housing was built again. Housing allows wage earners to move to where the jobs are, but also provides many jobs that provide increased growth when the general purchasing power is strengthened. Unfortunately, the image of Sweden is falsely painted by brown and blue mass media.
Then, SFI teaching needs to achieve better results, but for this goal, teachers and students must receive better financial resources. Integration needs to teach the value base we have in Sweden better, as our value base internationally is very odd. But both the language and our values were best learned by the immigrants as long as there were jobs at all levels for everyone. We need to rebuild the public sector for this purpose. But it is important that the immigrants understand that in order for Sweden to continue to do well, then everyone who can work and learn the skills needed here must. Both if you aim for a simple job and especially if you invest in a white-collar job, you must learn Swedish properly. But employers also have a responsibility to dare to try job seekers with different backgrounds.
Large public sector good for everyone, including business
A large public sector is not only good for employment and economic stability in a recession. It often produces the the greatest innovations and the leading research for industry and pharmaceutical companies. It also trains and repairs workers when necessary so they can work. It serves business with roads, railways, defense, justice, research, housing so workers can move to jobs, and laws that make us tackle environmental problems that can otherwise be expensive for businesses too.
Everyone in Sweden also needs to be nicer to each other in light of online trolls, metoo and many stressed workplaces and school environments. We need a more constructive male role.
The economy must benefit the people
We need to drastically re-direct fiscal policy so that state and municipal budgets go to the benefit of the people and not individual capitalists.
People need to build significantly more good, affordable rental apartments of all sizes. If we understand how money is created, we can offer cheap, good, beautiful homes for everyone. Germany is leading the way in building apartment buildings with old-fashioned, beautiful 1800th-century architecture.
We need regulate the banking and credit system so that the economy does not become about putting the people in debt. We need government deficits as a supplement to the tax to speed up production when needed and to reduce the risk of financial crises.
The blue society is one nightmare for common people.
Welfare, decent work, respect, tolerance, an environmentally friendly and egalitarian economy - in short, a society that wants good for its citizens and the whole world should be the goal. But even if we have many challenges, according to many calculations, were Sweden best country in 2017 on earth to live in.
