I consider a worker to be a person who lacks a capital he/she can live on in times of unemployment and/or illness and who is thus forced to take the jobs that the Employment Service or the Social Office assigns to him/her.
If you agree with this, you must realize that most academics are workers and should be in solidarity with the labor movement. For these graduates, they also need a humane unemployment fund and a generous social insurance system on the day they become unemployed and/or ill. They also need the workers to have tolerable wages and working conditions, in case they need to take on unskilled work for a period in their lives.
