In times of crisis, banks may freeze all savers' assets
In times of economic crisis, banks in the EU are now allowed to freeze all citizens' assets, even those of small savers, for one month. What is the meaning of this? A recession is a lack of demand. If the banks can freeze all saved assets for a month, surely that should worsen the demand crisis by further reducing the already low demand.
